"Bike in the Sun" Posted to Instagram

"Walking around Campus" Posted to Snapchat

I choose to post this photograph of a bike rack for Instagram. I chose this platform for the bike rack image because it is mainly used for artistic images. Instagram is more fitting because the main purpose of Instagram is to post creative images, similar to how amateur photographers post these images and obtain many followers. My purpose was to share a creative photograph that I edited and found really neat when photographing around campus. My caption for instagram would most likely be “Bike in the Sun.” I edited this photo with a heavy black and white filter, to highlight the shadows and lines within the image. For snapchat this photo would be less appropriate, so I had to post a different photo. For snapchat, I chose the image of the purple flowers, and this I edited with one of the three snapchat filters available, and would caption it with the phrase, “Walking around Campus,” because it tells everyone what I am doing and found, which is much more appropriate for snapchat. Just like creative and artistically edited photos are more appropriate for Instagram.

Although I had to change photos for both platforms, I liked both for their different purposes and captions. Each has a different message to get out to those who follow me on both platforms.
